Council Members Attending: Donald Mathews, Rodney Haslam, Tina Kelley, Sid Creager, Al Lundgren, Howard Hansen, Karen Sunday County Council Business Member Lundgren has a CD and Environmental Impact Statement on the APEX project (the Kern River Pipeline). He also has a copy of the rezone request from Snow Basin that was submitted to Weber County. Member Haslam reported that the Fair is going well and expressed thanks to Member Sunday for her work on the county float in the parade. Member Kelley reported that there have been a number of quilts donated for auction at the Fair to raise money for the Fairgrounds. She encouraged participation at the auctions by anyone interested. Chairman Creager commented that the parade went well and was well attended. He also thanked Member Sunday for her work. Member Kelley – Appoint a new Library Board Member Frank Curtis was recommended for this position by the Library Board. Curtis ‘ appointment was approved unanimously. Howard Hansen – Memorandum of Understanding between Morgan County Fire Department and the Division of Forestry. The state will be using one of the county facilities and is requesting to provide goods in kind (shovels, and other equipment) rather than the rental fee. Dave Rich, the fire chief, is recommending this proposal be accepted. Chairman Creager commented that this arrangement will be beneficial to all since the state has better buying power than the county and can sometimes get better prices on equipment. Approved Unanimously. Al Lundgren – Approve Insurance Premium Renewal for the Morgan County Airport. This policy provides the liability insurance for the airport. It provides liability coverage of $2,000,000. This is an item that was budgeted in the county budget for 2010. This cost is $1824. Approved Unanimously Grant Crowell – Contract with Wasatch Front Regional Council Supplementing Planning Funds for the Transportation Element of the 2010 Morgan County General Plan. Resolution CR-10-23. The Wasatch Front Regional Council has some funding available to assist the county in preparing the general plan. The county can be reimbursed up to $10,000 upon completion of the plan. Approved Unanimously Jeanne Allen – Patio Covering for the Senior Center The center would like to put a cover over the patio at the senior center. They have received a donation from Clark Lucas that they intend to use to pay for this cover. The center will be requesting bids for this project should it move forward.
