Maye Tonks Francis celebrated her 89th Birthday on May 30th. She enjoyed a special night out with her children having dinner at the Sizzler. On June 5th a celebration was held at the City Park, where a family picnic was held with her four children, eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Good food was enjoyed and lots of family pictures were taken. Maye was born on May 30, 1922 to Charles W. and Nina Ruth Porter Tonks in Round Valley, Utah. She married Rulon Knight Francis on September 4, 1942, and they were later sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. Rulon passed away on October 4th, 1998. She is an active member of the Morgan Third Ward. Her hobbies and interests include: bowling (until 86 years old), crocheting, count-cross, making afghans for her children and grandchildren, gardening, and attending plays and other activities with the Morgan Seniors. Her children and their spouses are Linda Francis, Janice (Stephen) Nielsen, Mark (Lana) Francis, Kent (Pam) Francis. She has nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
