The Morgan High School Varsity Football Players hosted their annual Football Dinner and Cake Auction Thursday August 11th. There was a huge turnout for the football fundraiser with over 800+ meal tickets sold for the delectable meal served by the honorable Morgan High Trojan Varsity Football players. The Morgan High Drill Team and Cheerleaders entertained the crowd and brought pep and precision dancing for the upcoming football season. The Auctioneer, Mr. Kilmer, rallied the crowds to purchase the variety of creative cakes designed and made by the varsity football players. The cakes took on all sorts of formats and styles including cheese cake, candy bar cakes, a Rice Eccles Stadium Cake, a coach Barlow cake representing Coach Barlow’s much admired mullet, and more. All the cakes together raised $3360 for the Morgan High Football Team to help purchase gear and supplies for the season. The boys and the coaches are all looking forward to this football season. There is a strong unity and regard that these boys hold for each other and their community. When asked what their favorite part about doing this fundraiser and dinner was one of the football players mentioned how much they love serving the community for the dinner and seeing everyone come together to support the team. The Coaches this year are (Head Coach) Chrisiansen, Millward, Barlow, Bowen, Matthews, Preece, Toller, Hadley, Bowler, Crossley, and Prochnow. They have been practicing extensively throughout the summer. The Varsity team’s first home game will be this Friday, August 19th, 2011 against Maple Mountain. It will be held held at the Morgan High School Football stadium starting at 7:00 P.M. There will be a Hello Stomp following the game. This pre-season fund raiser was precedent to the successful football season that lies ahead. Go Trojans!
