The Mathematics Sterling Scholar at Morgan High School this year is Christian Wiscombe, son of Jim and Liz Wiscombe! Swish scored a five on the AP Calculus test and placed third on the Trig Star test last year. He also received the Energy Solutions Scholarship this year. Swish is a member of the Ping Pong Club, National Honor Society, the school’s basketball team, and the school’s tennis team. He serves as a leader in the positions of president of the Ping Pong Club, Chief President of Morgan High’s chapter of National Honor Society, and the tennis team captain for two consecutive years. His favorite subject is easy to guess; he enjoys math. Swish’s most memorable service experience was when he had the opportunity to lead a humanitarian aid project in which 150 pairs of reading glasses were collected and sent to the people of Guatemala who were in need of those glasses. He could also never forget when he took state in tennis as a freshman in high school. Swish feels that he discovered the importance of practice and hard work as he took pleasure in watching the improvements the team made from game to game. Outside of school Swish also enjoys playing sports, swimming, and traveling. He plans to attend the University of Utah this fall where he will major in engineering.
