Morgan’s Varsity baseball team won two critical games last week to all but assure the team a playoff berth. Braden Daniel struck out ten batters over seven innings to help Morgan defeat Tooele, 4-2 on April 24th. Daniel also helped out his cause with an RBI single in the first inning. Lantzen Toomer was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI single. Cameron Jarrett also reached base twice, including an RBI double in the third inning. Two days later, the Trojans easily dispensed with Ben Lomond, 10-0. Morgan went up 9-0 after two innings thanks to a barrage of hits and several walks. Cam Skinner tossed four effective innings, and Cameron Jarrett closed out the game to preserve the shutout. The team has two regular season games left: 5/1 at Stansbury (3:30 p.m.) and 5/3 at home v. Ogden (3:30 p.m.). A win against either team will guarantee the Trojans a postseason berth.
