The holidays are here and what better way to ring in the season than to come listen to the Morgan Community Choir. The performance will be held Monday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Morgan High School auditorium. The free concert is an ongoing annual tradition for the community since 1999. After the incredible evening of entertainment, cookies and punch will be served in the commons. Songs include several sacred numbers such as On a Sacred Still and Silent Night, by Betsey Lee Bailey, Soft, Soft, by Laurence Lyon, Festive Gloria, by Jim Stanton, and movie favorites such as Somewhere in my Memory, from Home Alone and Believe from The Polar Express. It is rumored that Santa will make an appearance again this year, fun for the whole family. Director Lois Manning will be joined by assistant director Suzanne Gibb, and the choir is accompanied by pianist Aimee Ferrin. The concert is highlighted by several vocal solos from members of the choir, and a flute solo by Kelly Wright. What would Christmas be without music and celebration of family and friends for holiday cheer? Please join us and enjoy the true spirit of the season. Anyone who enjoys good music and singing is encouraged to join the Morgan Community Choir. New members are always welcome and needed. The choir rehearses every Wednesday night in the high school choir room, from 7 – 9 p.m., with the first rehearsal for the spring season on Jan. 16.
