Registration for the 2013-2014 school year is about to begin. Students will begin to receive information soon and we would like to encourage parents to be involved with their student’s class selection. On Thursday, March 7, all students will attend an assembly designed specifically for their individual grade level. We will provide all the information students will need to know to register for high school classes. These assemblies will be held in the high school auditorium beginning at 8 a.m. for all eighth grade students. Freshmen will meet at 9 a.m., sophomores at 10 a.m. and juniors at 12:30 p.m. Registration instructions will be given to each student following their assembly. Parents are invited to attend the assemblies at the school if it is convenient, or they can contact their student’s counselor at any time during the day at (801) 829-3418 with questions. Next year’s ninth and 10th grade students can contact Mrs. Field, and Mr. Wiscombe is the counselor for next year’s 11th and 12th grade students. Again this year, class requests will be entered by the student online. Access to online requesting will open at 3 p.m. on March 7 and will close at 7 a.m. on March 15. We encourage parents to work with their students in selecting classes. For those families that do not have internet access, the high school counseling center lab is available before and after school. Students will attend advisory on Friday, March 15 to turn in their signed request forms. Students who have not entered their class requests and turned in the proper paper work by March 15 will be required to pay a $10 late fee. Counselors and administration will then process student requests and develop a master schedule for the 2013-2014 school year. Once the master schedule has been created, schedules will be printed and students will have the opportunity to review their schedules with parents and advisors during SEOP Conferences on April 24 and 25. Students will then have the opportunity to make any necessary changes to their schedule online until May 13 at 7 a.m. without a schedule change fee. Please contact the high school counseling center at (801) 829-3418 for information about any of the above events.
