Kent and Karen Broadhead of Mountain Green are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Parker Bentley Van Wagoner, to Shelby Ann Wakley, daughter of Randy and Lisa Wakley of Preston, Idaho. The couple will marry for time and all eternity on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Preston Church building (213 South 2nd East Ò Preston, Idaho). An open house will be held Friday Aug. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Broadhead home (5950 W. Sierra Dr., Mtn. Green). Parker graduated from Morgan High School and LDS Seminary in 2009. He participated in tennis, golf, jazz band and student government. He earned his Eagle Scout and Duty to God Award and received a full scholarship for academics, leadership and music from Utah State University, where he is currently majoring in economics and finance. Parker served an LDS mission in the Peru Lima East Mission. Shelby graduated from Preston High School and Preston LDS Seminary in 2009. She was active in volleyball, track, basketball, choir, and served as seminary president. She also received her Young Womanhood Recognition Award and participated in Franklin County’s Junior Miss Program. After high school Shelby attended BYU-Idaho, and is currently attending Utah State University majoring in health promotion. Shelby and Parker will live in Logan. They are registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target.
