The Morgan Lions Club, the oldest continuously serving service club in the county, held its installation program for the new 2013-2014 officers. The meeting was held Thursday evening, Aug. 13, in North Morgan when Lions and their wives met for a wonderful meal and meeting. The Lions organization invites all interested individuals to join and help in sponsoring community activities for the residents of Morgan County. Some activities sponsored by the Lions are, but not limited to; the Easter Egg Hunt, the 7th & 8th grade girls and boys basketball tournament, the annual Turkey Shoot, Morgan High School scholarship awards, contributions to the annual Morgan County Fair livestock show and sale, support for the Community Choir, other physical projects in the county, the annual Truck pull, and the bringing of Santa Clause to town each Christmas season. The club meets the first and third Thursday evening each month in the Lions lodge, when the seather permits, and at Larry’s Spring Chicken Inn when it is difficult to get to the clubhouse. If you have wondered how to join, please contact any Lion member or membership committee members Jerry Peterson (801) 876-3052 or Hugh Davis (801) 829-6588.
