Just within the last week, Snowbasin Ski Resort has received a total of 49 new inches of snow. Almost half of that came within 24 hours from Tuesday into Wednesday. While this may be a gift to skiers, the snow totals caused havoc on Morgan County roads. Snow-packed, white-out conditions caused I-84 to be closed for a time Tuesday at the mouth of Weber Canyon and after semi trucks jackknifed near Taggarts. The Utah Highway Patrol was restricting traffic on Trapper’s Loop. According to reports on the facebook group “How’s That Canyon,” Morgan residents said it was the most difficult driving conditions on I-84 that they had ever seen in their lives.
