Anniversary - Gerald and Georgia Mikesell

Gerald and Georgia Mikesell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at their home in Porterville, Utah, with their family.  They were married Nov. 18, 1953, in Morgan, Utah.  Later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on June 2, 1965.
Gerald was born on the family farm in Porterville, Utah.  He was employed at the Ideal Cement Company, Devils Slide, Utah, for 45 and a half years, retiring in 1995.  He has farmed, sheared sheep, shod horses and been a well witcher for over 60 years.  He enjoys golfing with family and friends and also belonged to the Morgan Lion’s Club.
Georgia was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, moving to Utah in 1945.  She worked at DDO Ogden, Cutter Labs, as a housekeeper and at Roger’s Food in Morgan, retiring in 1995.
The couple served two summers at Martin’s Cove, Wyoming, on an LDS mission.  They were stake and ward missionaries and served in the Ogden LDS temple for five and a half years.
They enjoy spending time with their children: Rosemary (Glenn) Eberle, Pleasant View, Utah; Eugene (Julie) Mikesell, West Haven, UTtah; Tom Mikesell and friend Ron Oliver, Tigard, Ore.  They have 11 grandchildren (one deceased – Heather Ann), 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
Through the years, they went camping, fishing and golfing with family and friends.
