Anniversary - Keith & Shirley Storey

Keith and Shirley Storey Celebrated their 60th Anniversary at a Family Dinner and a night on the town in Salt Lake City where they started their journey together 60 years ago this year.

 They were married in the Logan Temple of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the cold winter day of November 15 1951.

 Keith attended Ogden High School graduating with the Class of 1948.  After graduating, Keith moved to the family Farm in Eden Utah.

He was a member of the 222nd National Guard, and was employed at Hill Air Force Base starting out as a sheet Metal worker and retiring 38 years later as supervisor of the Drafting and Design department.

After Retirement Keith then opened his own woodworking shop doing various projects such as remodeling kitchens and also designing and making furniture.

He is sometimes called the “Bank Man” for the many hand made banks he constructs using old antique post office box doors.

 Shirley was born on October 14, 1933 to Harold and Ada Houghton in Hot Springs South Dakota and shortly after they moved to Ogden. She also attended Ogden High School and graduated with the class of 1952.

 Shirley was a homemaker who has many talents and loves which include Oil Painting, Sewing, Quilting and Needle work,  making hand made porcelain dolls and spending time with her many grandchildren. She was employed for many years at the Browning Arms Factory in Mountain Green Utah where she later retired from.

 Keith and Shirley met on a blind date and were married seven months later.

They both enjoyed square dancing and were members of the “Double J Rustlers.” They Still meet often with their friends that they met during that time and now spend their winters in the warmer climate of southern Arizona  and the rest of their time in Morgan.

They are both active in their church and have served in many callings. Keith served a stake mission and Shirley served as a  German extraction Mission for 9 years and after their retirement both served together in a couples mission of the Ogden Utah Inner cities mission.

Their Children and spouses are Gordon and Robyn Cutler of South Weber, Bruce Storey of Morgan Utah, David and Pat Storey of West Haven Utah, Perry and Valarie Raleigh of Elizabeth Town Pennsylvania, Aaron and Shaunna Storey of Tooele Utah, and Tyler and Elsie Storey of Smithfield Utah.

Keith and Shirley have raised two grand children have 21 grand children and 14 great grandchildren.
