Darrell Edward Mikesell of Porterville, Utah will celebrate his 80th birthday.
Family and friends are welcome to a barbecue open house at his home at 675 W. Hardscrabble Road in Porterville from 4 – 6:30 p.m. on July 6.
He was born on July 4, 1933 in Porterville to Joseph and Martha Mikesell (Lythgoe) as the sixth child. He graduated from Morgan High School and was drafted into the army and served in Japan and in the Korean War.
He married his sweetheart and love of his life, Arnell Judd, on January 14, 1956. He worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 33 years. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoys spending time with his family, watching old westerns, football and fishing. He is a proud father of seven children.
Their children and spouses are Bobbi and Leon Medina, Stan and Vicky Mikesell, Roger and Loretta Webber (deceased), Kevin Mikesell (deceased), Betsy Garr, Phillip and Mary Ann Rock and Arnold and Shayna Mikesell.
He has 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Please no gifts.
