JoAnn Lovell Smith of Mountain Green, Utah, will celebrate her 80th birthday on Aug. 9 with a Brigham City Temple excursion and dinner at Maddox with her children and their spouses. There will also be an open house on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Highlands meeting house located at 5378 W. Old Hwy Road. Friends and family are invited to attend. JoAnn was born August 9, 1933, in Oak City, Utah. She is the daughter of Allen and Virginia Lovell. She married A. Kent Smith on Jan. 16, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple. She has lived in Oak City, Utah; Caliente, Nevada; Sunset, Utah; and Mountain Green, Utah, where she currently resides. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California San Bernadino mission. She was an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple for many years. Throughout her life she has given countless hours of service to the community, church organizations and her family. She has blessed the lives of all who have had the opportunity to know her.
Her children and their spouses are Greg and Debi Smith, Rodger and Marjalee Smith, Stuart and Carol Smith, Bret and Pamela Smith, Bart and Sharon Smith, Kirk and Lana Smith, Matt and Tonya Smith, and Lance and Suzanne Heaton. She has 46 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
