Mayor Egbert reported to the city council on Tuesday that the city is taking action to prepare for potential flooding. The city contracted with Mecham Brothers to clean the canal near the home of Susan Ralston and also built a dike to try to keep her home from flooding. The also have placed sand bags in other locations.
The Mayor also reported that the city has placed sand and fill material in strategic locations in the city in case it is needed on short notice for sand bagging or to create berms. The city has encouraged the county to prepare in a similar fashion.
Mayor Egbert informed city residents that the city has sand bags available for them should they feel that they have a need. Residents can contact the city offices should they wish to have access to this resource.
