The county has selected a consultant to handle the large Snowbasin application.
After a request for qualifications was issued, a four-member selection committee selected Bruce Parker. The selection committee was Charlie Ewert, County Engineer Mark Miller, County Attorney Jann Farris, and County Councilman Lyle Nelson.
“We are very comfortable with the individual,” Charlie Ewert said. “We are impressed with the amount of experience he has with rural jurisdictions and large master planned communities.”
Ewert said Miller had had a lot of experience working with Parker in the past.
Ewert said Parker would “get up to speed” by the first of the year, and the county could hear Snowbasin’s proposal by March.
County Councilman Robert Kilmer said Salt Lake’s announcement to seek another Olympic bid could move up Snowbasin’s development pace.
“I could see them doing a lot of building, pushing hard,” Kilmer said.
