Roaring motorcycles through beautiful fall colors, dripping barbecue ribs and a hopping auction last weekend resulted in $1,300 for local schools.
After months of planning, organizers of the Ride For Our Schools fundraiser were pleased with the greater-than-expected turnout and comments from participants that they would come back again next year.
The route began and ended in Morgan County and took motorcyclists through Ogden Valley and across the North Ogden Divide.
Participants won prizes such as gift cards, horseback riding, teeth whitening, ski lift tickets, overnight stays, restaurants, hair products, dog grooming, fitness center memberships, birthday cakes, oil changes, golf clubs and fireworks.
The proceeds will be split among area schools. Already, Morgan High School has planned to use their cut on projector equipment. The elementary schools expressed the need for office supplies.
In support of local business, Suppliz Source, a local office supply vendor, will offer area schools an account from which they can order needed supplies. Donations can be made directly to each school’s account by contacting Stefani Jensen at 801-845-1110.
