Glassed Up brings a new cool to Commercial Street

Article Date:
25 April, 2014 (All day)

A new business has opened its doors on Commercial Street. Glassed Up! carries an eclectic mix of upcycled glassware and vintage furniture.
What does upcycle mean? Glassed Up! Proprietor Lesa Andersen Gilgen explains upcycling as taking something that has little value and transforming it into something that has more value than it had originally.
Upcycling is very similar to synergy, a concept that was taught by Stephen Covey in his book 7 Habits of Highly Successful People.  Simply defined, synergy is the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.
Glassed Up! has a funky vibe, and with its opening, Morgan’s cool factor has definitely increased. The glass designs are 100 percent Lesa Andersen Gilgen originals. If you’ve ever met Gilgen, you know that she is 100 percent original too. Just talking to Gilgen is lots of fun and well worth the stop. She’s very creative and has a bright personality.
The successful grand opening of Glassed Up! April 19 is just the beginning. Her beautiful glassware and unique vintage furniture pieces are sure to keep people coming back.
Gilgen and the other proprietors of Commercial Street are valuable parts in the synergy that will upcycle Commercial Street as a valuable asset to Morgan.  The store is located in the building that used to house Zanadu, next door to Morgan Physical Therapy.
The Morgan Area Chamber was proud to host Glassed Up’s ribbon cutting ceremony.  They are committed to helping Morgan businesses.
