Jazz player to visit Morgan youth

Article Date:
31 May, 2013 (All day)

Every year local youth look forward to an appearance from one of our very own Utah Jazz players.  This Monday, June 3, Morgan kids will have the opportunity to meet 2012 NBA Slam Dunk Champion Jeremy Evans.
Evans is the only player in Utah Jazz history to win the NBA dunk contest.  He also finished second in the competition in 2013.  Evans has participated in the Jr. Jazz program in the past and is excited to participate again.
Arguably one of the most athletic players in the NBA currently, Evans is known for his high flying dunks, blocked shots and constant energy.
Last season was Evan’s third season with the Jazz and in the NBA in general.  He was selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round of the 2010 NBA draft.  He is the first-ever Jazz draft selection from Western Kentucky.  Evans is a forward for the Jazz, measuring at an impressive 6’ 9” tall.
Evans is also an accomplished artist.  He had a sketch of CBS analyst, Dan Bonner, showcased on the national broadcast of the Hilltoppers’ second round battle with Gonzaga during the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
Jr. Jazz is sponsoring the event, but anyone and everyone who would like to meet this accomplished sportsman are invited to come out and enjoy the afternoon.  There is usually autograph time at the end of the event and a lot of hands-on involvement with Evans.
The organizers would love to see a huge crowd for Evans, so please bring your kids out to the Morgan Middle School gym on Monday, June 3, at 10 a.m.  The kids always have a great time, so come and join the fun.
