The Lady Trojans continued their dominant march through the season with a win over Juan Diego on Tuesday night.
Morgan is on a nine-game winning streak and has only lost one time this season. Their near perfect record stands at 16-1 overall.
Coached by Brad Mathews, the Trojans are well-prepared and have high expectations for a successful post-season run.
Most matchups this year have resulted in hugely lopsided victories for Morgan. Tuesday’s contest with Juan Diego proved to be the toughest among region opponents. Morgan executed their game plan and still pulled away with a comfortable victory. The final score was 67-53.
With a game high 19 points, Breanna Hurlbut led all scorers on the floor. This included one three-pointer. Rashel Blazzard contributed 16 points to the effort including two three-pointers. Both Alli Tonks and Jessica Carter each put down 10 points. Tonks had one three-pointer and Carter sunk two from behind the arc. Other scores included Savanna Brooks with five points, Lily Henry with a three-pointer, and Lisa VanCampen and Aubrey Saunders each added two points.
Morgan pulled down 28 rebounds in the win led by Brooks with six, and Blazzard with five. In the assist column Brooks and Hurlbut had four assists each. Hurlbut was also very active on defense, leading the team with five steals and Carter led the team with three blocked shots.
