MEF announces annual ‘Classroom Caddie’ Golf Tournament

Article Date:
12 July, 2013 (All day)

Members of the Morgan Education Foundation are busy putting the final touches on the 5th annual “Classroom Caddie” golf tournament to be held August 6, 2013.  Round Valley Golf Course will once again host this year’s tournament.   Sign in and continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m.   A delicious lunch will be served and prizes awarded after the tournament.
“This is a fun event that supports such a great cause: our teachers and classrooms,” said tournament chair Becky Weeks.  “It just keeps getting bigger and better every year!”
Just as a caddie serves to support and lighten the load of his golfer, all funds raised at the “Classroom Caddie” tournament will go directly to support and help lighten the load of the wonderful teachers in Morgan School District.  Last year, the Morgan Education Foundation was thrilled to be able to present 30 teachers with classroom grants totaling $11,600.
The 2013 “Classroom Caddie” golf tournament is sponsored in part by Westland Construction, Hogan Construction, Adams Avenue Car Wash and Hertz Car Sales.  The Morgan Education Foundation thanks these businesses for their generous support and continued commitment to enhancing the educational opportunities for the students in the Morgan School District.
Major sponsorships, hole sponsorships and player opportunities for this year’s tournament are still available.  For more information on how you can support the Morgan Education Foundation by participating in the “Classroom Caddie” tournament, contact Becky Weeks at (801) 791-3649 or becky.weeks@hotmail.com or D’Lynn Poll at (801) 829-4775 or dpoll@morgansd.org.
Upcoming Events
The “Classroom Caddie” golf tournament is the first of several upcoming events sponsored by the Morgan Education Foundation that aim to raise much-needed funds for Morgan County schools.
All are invited to test your brainpower at the “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader” contest on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Morgan County Fair.
Next, make plans now to bring the whole family to the “Color Me Bright!” Fun Run that will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21.  “Color Me Bright!” is an untimed race where participants of all ages will be doused from head to toe in brightly colored powders at several points along the race route.  Even if you aren’t a runner, be sure to join in the fun at the after-race party and stomp.  This is an event that you will not want to miss!
