The Morgan Storm U13 Girls competition soccer team won the Layton Strikers Cup held Aug. 13 to 17. The girls played hard against opponents from Layton and Ogden to reach the final game with two wins and a loss. The final game against a talented Layton team went into overtime with a tied score. After two five-minute periods, the score was still tied and went to a “best of five” shoot out. After the shoot out, the score was still tied and the outcome of the game was to be decided in a “sudden death” shoot out. Alexia Stanbridge was the first to score for the Morgan Storm, winning the tournament. Erin Kobe was awarded MVP by the opposing team. Preslee Bradshaw did an excellent job under intense pressure as goal keeper. The Morgan Storm is coached by Ryan Turner and Aaron Turner. Team members are Tosha Turner, Preslee Bradshaw, Emma Dredge, Hayden Keele, Alexia Stanbridge, Erin Kobe, Gracie Turner, Tricia Cowgill, Kaylee Giles, Adrianne Rowser, Hannah Lamon, Elly Ferrell, Brooke Grow, Tannah Carter and Riley Freeman.
