Morgan Valley Memories for the Week of July 16th

 The Morgan High Class of 1943 met on Friday, July 15, 2005 at the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer building. They had a dinner, and talked of old times. Of the Class of 1943, there were 13 members of the class at the reunion. There were 19 missing, and there have been 20 that have passed away. In the photo were Ernest Little of Kaysville, Vanda Lewis of Bountiful, Eskil Gene Lewis of Bountiful, Eugene Crittle of Lake Elsinore, California, Dale Smith of Morgan, Wayne Clark of Salt Lake City, Gene Hails of Logandale Nevada, Emma Smith of Morgan, John Wilkinson of Morgan, George (Bud) Rhodes of Milton, Mildred Bennett of Coalville, Fred Kippen of Porterville and Velma Nicholls of Morgan. Gene and Vanda Lewis are married, as is Dale and Emma Smith.


Jim Egbert retired from teaching after 30 years. (Jim is now the Morgan City Mayor.
Peggy Dawson retired after 30 years of teaching.


Don Holt was named the Morgan Middle School Principal


A man was arrested in Platsburg, New York after throwing a  man off a Union Pacific train traveling through Morgan on April 23, 1990. The New York man was to be brought back to Morgan to face the charges.
Morgan Fair Queen Contestants were announced. They were Laura Anne Turner, Sharla Lyn West, Cathy Jones, Amy Carruth, and Tiffany Anderton.


A smiling Ann Porter was in an ad for the First National Bank of Morgan. She doesn’t look a day older now, 25 years later.


 An ad in the paper said “Feen a mint is the ideal summertime laxative, pleasant and convenient,gentle but thorough in its action, check summer upset stomach, mint at home or away


FREE BABY CLINIC JULY 30   The public is hereby notified that a free baby clinic will be held at the county court house in Morgan next Tuesday July 30 from 9 to 12 a.m.  The physician will be Dr. Eugene H. Smith, a specialist.   The baby’s eligible will be up to the age of two years this notice is published by authority of the county nurse, Miss Criddle.

Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson of Devils Slide spent Friday and Saturday in Wellsville at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Bert Francis
Mrs. Pauline Robison of Ogden is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs Percy Francis
