Park City High School was the site of this year’s annual Deseret News –KSL sponsored Sterling Scholar program for the Northeastern Utah area. Fourteen schools participate in this competition. Morgan High nominees fared well amongst highly qualified candidates.
The winners were Christian “Swish” Wiscombe, son of Jim and Liz Wiscombe, Math; Seanna Thornton, daughter of Doug and Janet Thornton, General; Lindsey Newton, daughter of Mark and Joan Newton, Family and Consumer Sciences; Megan Stapley, daughter of Kurt and Maggee Stapley, Skilled and Technical Sciences; Tyler Kippen, son of Bryan and Rachael Kippen, Science.
The runner-ups were Cade McGary, son of Kirk and Blenda McGary, Business and Marketing and McKinsey Ferrell, daughter of Robert and Lori Ann Ferrell, Computer Technology. The winners received $500 and scholarships to any of the colleges and universities in the state, as well as BYU-Idaho.
The runner-ups received $350 and half tuition scholarships to state colleges and universities.
All fourteen of our students worked very hard to show their stellar academic abilities. We are proud of them and their accomplishments.
