Although some events scheduled at the arena during the fair were a little muddy, the participants in final regular season 4-H horse show could not have enjoyed more favorable conditions. The show was held as a two day event starting on Thursday July 28th at 6:00 pm with the Written Test, Showmanship, Western Equitation and Bareback Equitation. Friday night events included Barrels, Poles and the Scurry Race. We have seen so much improvement in many of our 4-H exhibitors during the year and hope they had a fun time with their projects over the summer.
Congratulations to Seniors Courtney Sanders and Kami Call, Intermediates Reganne Hales and McKenna Hales, and Juniors Emily Vigoren and Morgan Balding for earning the overall High Point and Reserve High Point awards in each of their age divisions during the show.
Morgan County is also fortunate this year as it is our turn to host the Northeastern Region 4-H Horse Show. This show will be sponsored by the Morgan County Horse 4-H Council and is open this year to all horse 4-H youth from Morgan, Rich, Summit, and Wasatch counties. The Region show will be held on Saturday, August 27th with check-in at 8:00 am, the written test starting at 9:00 am and all events to follow. Morgan gets this opportunity only once every four years, and with the help from our county fairgrounds maintenance crew preparing and conditioning the arenas we are hoping to sponsor a very successful event for our 4-H youth! Please come and support Morgan County horse 4-H as we compete as a team for top placing against these other counties.
