Samantha Braithwaite, daughter of Russell and Beth Braithwaite, was chosen as this year’s Foreign Language Sterling Scholar!

She lived in Brazil for three years before coming to live in Morgan. Sammy took a college level Portuguese class at Weber State and taught an elementary 4-H class about Brazilian culture.

She also recently traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she helped to provide service for a cancer shelter. At Morgan High School Sam is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the president and founder of the Welcoming Club. Her favorite class is AP Calculus with Mr. Floyd.

A memorable service experience of Sammy’s has been her opportunity to serve food to low income families at the Marshal White Center on Thanksgiving for the past two years and on Christmas this past year. Some of Samantha’s hobbies outside of school include running, reading, and playing the piano.

After graduation, she plans to continue her education at Brigham Young University-Idaho this fall where she will pursue a degree in elementary education.
