Morgan High Track team took top honors on Friday, May 10 as the girls ended up taking 3rd in Region and the boys following right along taking 5th.
Morgan High’s 72 track students ran into the night competing with eight teams each vying for wins and hoping to be among those heading to the state championships. Head Boys Track Coach, Mike Maddeo is excited that 20 MHS students will be heading to the State finals which will be held May 17-18 at BYU.
Those qualifying for state include: Andrew Allen-Medley Relay, Travis Carter-300 Hurdles & Medley Relay, Kole Davis-Shot Put, Karlie Dotson-alternate Medley Relay, Britten Deurden-High Jump; 100 Hurdles; 4x400 Relay, Hayden Garfield-Medley Relay, Lilly Henry-High Jump, Kayla Jackson-100 & 300 Hurdles; Medley Relay, Shayli Kilmer-Medley Relay & 4x400 Relay, Kameisha Kippen-alternate Medley Relay, Spencer Larsen- alternate in Medley Relay. Andrea Millburn-Medley Relay & 4x400 Relay, Chania Nagel-Shot Put & Discus, Kassie Nagel-Shot Put & Discus.
Kallie Quarez-Medley Realy & 4x400 Relay, Kyle Stapey-Shot Put, Chaz Stout-Medley Relay, Mike Walker-300 Hurdles; alternate in Medley Rely, Chandler Weitzel- 100 & 200 Dashes; Medley Relay, Sydnee Wixom-Javelin.
