TRAX PowerSports brings new vitality to State Street

Article Date:
6 June, 2014 (All day)

Exciting things have been happening in recent months on State Street. Several new businesses have opened their doors and others seem to have been growing without actually opening any doors.
TRAX PowerSports has been getting rentals calls for some time now even though their doors didn’t technically open until this week.  The lure of the brand new boats, off-road motorcycles, Side by Sides, Harley Davidson street motorcycles and personal watercraft was just too much for some outdoor enthusiasts, so the Eggett family proceeded to rent equipment before their official opening date.
Although TRAX is now open for business, they will be having a grand opening in June.  So watch for the banner that will go up once they are sure of the date.  “We want to encourage everyone to stop by for free giveaways and to enter our drawings for free rentals!” encouraged entrepreneur Roger Eggett.
Eggett is not new to the equipment rental business.  He and his wife Heidi have owned and operated the Cabins at Bear River Lodge since 1997.  “We are in our 18th year of renting cabins, snowmobiles, and ATVs.  We understand the outdoor recreation business,” said Eggett.  Each year, the Eggetts purchase more than 50 snowmobiles, ATVs, and side by sides for rentals at Bear River Lodge.
The couple moved to Morgan in 2011. “We have seen the demand for a local rental shop to supply outdoor enthusiasts with access to great PowerSports equipment.  Eggett continued saying, “We realize the cost of owning this equipment is significant and prevents many families from participating in these great activities.  Our new ski boat alone, a 2014 Master Craft X2, costs about $100,000.  Not many of us can or want to spend that kind of money on a boat.  However, renting it for a day or two each summer allows us to get together with family and friends and enjoy the great outdoors.”
The TRAX philosophy is to rent the latest models and a complete line of PowerSports equipment.  This allows families to enjoy a day of fun without such a big commitment to payments and rising insurance costs.
“We receive many calls from renters along the Wasatch front who want to rent equipment to take to places other than Bear River Lodge.  Having a shop in Morgan will allow us to meet that need.  Not only will we be providing a rental service to families living outside the Morgan area but we will be bringing them to Morgan to boost our local economy.  They will purchase fuel, eat at our restaurants, and buy groceries, as they head out on their adventures.  We hope this business will be a benefit to all of us in the Morgan valley,” commented Eggett.
Anyone interested in rentals can stop by our shop Monday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, or call us at 801 447-5544 or check out our website and make online reservations at www.traxpowersports.com.
TRAX believes in supporting locals so much, that Eggett even offers a 25 percent discount to all Morgan residents. “Just mention that you are local and we will make sure to take good care of you,” smiled Eggett.
Not only does the new TRAX Motorsports storefront provide access to East Canyon visitors, it will also provide an outlet for selling used rental equipment from Bear River Lodge.  The Eggetts sell their rental equipment at the end of each season, so this is still fairly new inventory. The idea is to allow purchases while they are in still like-new condition and under warranty.  A new crop of outdoor fun is purchased every year, this leaves an entire rental fleet of previously owned equipment up for grabs for those who enjoy these activities so often, they are willing to settle down with their very own machines.
TRAX PowerSports Rentals is a franchise operation and anyone interested in opening and owning their own TRAX PowerSports Rentals franchise can get more information from the above mentioned website.
