A high speed chase occurred on Dec. 14, through Morgan County at about 9:30 p.m. A vehicle traveling at very high speeds was spotted by Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy who did a radar check on the vehicle.

The two people in the car were clocked at going 118 mph on the the I-84 interstate heading west bound. They hit a rock wall near the old off ramp by the Hitching Post.  The deputy pulled out on to the interstate to follow the Volkswagon Jetta, but lost sight of it because of the extreme speeds of the vehicle.

The deputy, after going around the corner then noticed the vehicle had hit a rock wall and guardrail,  near the old off ramp by the Hitching Post, and rolled, causing both passengers to be thrown out of the vehicle. The engine also was ejected due to high speeds and impact.

Andrea Kaiser age 25, of Clinton and Nathan Imes age 28 of Ogden both died  in the accident.
