Michael L. Newton from Croydon and Debbie Sessions from Peterson were appointed to the Morgan County Planning Commission.  The Morgan County Council appointed them for terms set to expire on Feb. 28, 2017.
Sessions was already on the commission when the council re-appointed her.  Newton will replace Adam Toone.  Other planning commission members include Roland Haslam, Shane Stephens, Alvin Lundgren, Steve Wilson and Darrell Erickson.
Two Mountain Green residents, David Sawyer and Doug Dingman, expressed interest in the open positions.  However, the council felt more comfortable appointing residents who live in the areas they will represent.  Council Chairwoman Tina Kelley encouraged Sawyer and Dingman to apply when other county positions become available in the future.
