VITA program has need of volunteers

Article Date:
6 December, 2013 (All day)

Each year the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program assists low-income residents with tax preparation.
The “Earn it.  Keep it.  Save it.” program is a statewide campaign to strengthen family financial stability through the utilization of the Earned Income Tax Credit, VITA and asset formation programs.
The VITA program needs dedicated volunteers to assure its success.  They are looking for members of the Morgan community to assist them this year.
Each volunteer will learn new skills as they are trained by professionals to assist in tax preparation.  The volunteer hours affect the entire community.  Volunteer help community members access the estimated $51 million to $70 million of unclaimed Earned Income Tax Credit monies, which brings more money back into the community.
Help individuals and families keep more of what they earn by volunteering through the VITA program.
