Syracuse – Antelope Island State Park hosts the 24th Annual Bison Roundup and Range Ride Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30. Karen "Smoky" Pentz died September 13, 2010, due to complications
following a long battle with Dementia.

Morgan, with a graveside service at Milton Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

Vaughn and Janice Larson of Morgan will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family September 18, 2010, in Morgan.

What a great start to the 2010-2011 school year! This August Morgan Elementary School welcomed back almost five hundred fifty eager students in grades one through five with more than one hundred fifty kindergarteners and preschoolers starting the first few days of September. Back to school is a time for new beginnings in an elementary school with new friends, new teachers, and new learning planned for the next nine months.
The Morgan Utah Stake will hold its semi-annual stake conference on Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19, 2010. The meetings will originate from the Morgan Utah Stake Center at 355 North 700 East, Morgan, and will be broadcast live to the Rock Chapel (10 W Young Street, Morgan) and the Porterville Chapel (2700 S Morgan Valley Drive, Porterville), as listed below. Speakers will come from the stake presidency and the membership of the stake. Visitors are welcome.

The Trojans travelled to Kamas this past Friday to take on the South Summit Wildcats as well as the weather. Lightening suspended play for a short while, and when play resumed the Trojans held on to a narrow 14-7 victory.

Harli Rees is the tiniest pageant winner in town. At one year old she has already won twelve trophies, four crowns, two banners and a plaque. Her titles include three queen titles, Mini Queen, Prettiest Eyes, Prettiest Hair, Best Attire, Most Photogenic, and Personality Plus. She is the daughter of Tucker and Misha Rees, and grand-daughter of Stan and Sue Rees and Bonnie Smith of Las Vegas.
The Morgan Fire Department would like to thank everyone for their support with this year’s Muscular Dystrophy Assosiation (MDA) Drive. The fire department collected $2576.70. This will all go to MDA for kids local.
We would especially like to thank those in the community that donated $ 100 or more for this drive. We have given those few a special MDA Tee Shirt for their support. We would like to thank Morgan Jubilee , Nebco Service and 7 Eleven for letting us use their locations with our MDA Drive. Also we would like to thank Morgan Fire Fighters that gave of their time to help collect for this year’s MDA Drive.
Senior Robbie Nelson had an outstanding varsity football game against Wasatch. He returned a 86 yard kick return for a touchdown, and kicked 346 total yards. Robbie helped Morgan stomp Wasatch with a 49-15 victory.
Robbie's parents are Brandon and Karen Nelson. He says when he is not playing sports he is babysitting an doing EVERYTHING his parents tell him to do.

Senior, AJ Bateman had a fantastic game against Grantsville last week. AJ scored 2 goals for the lady Trojans, one goal was a header. Morgan shut out Grantsville 10-0.
AJ is the daughter of Bill & Gaylene Bateman and when she is not playing sports, likes to sing and hang out with her friends.

The Morgan girls soccer team opened Region 11 play on Thursday September 2nd in dominating fashion, beating Grantsville by a score of 10-0 on the Cowgirls home field. The Trojans scored early and often in the first half, opening up a quick lead and never looked back.

The Lady Trojans had the first home game against Skyview on Wednesday September 1st and looked to be definitely ready for a great season.
The Freshmen had a close first game with a win of 25-22, but then got rolling winning the next two 25-16 and 15-10.
Andrea Lynn Carrigan, daughter of Roger and Jill Carrigan of Morgan, will wed Chanyne Curtis Phillips of Riverton, Utah on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, in a small backyard ceremony at her parent's home.
Donna Marie Walton, 85, was born October 25, 1924 and passed peacefully into eternity on August 25, 2010. She will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as constant, patient, kind, and quick to smile.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 28 at the Morgan North Stake Center, 2755 West Old Highway Road, Morgan, Utah.

In a statement at the Morgan County Council meeting on Tuesday, Chairman Sid Creager announced that Morgan County Council Administrator Garth Day had been placed on unpaid administrative leave while an investigation is completed into improprieties with financial accounts.
Ned Mecham is a candidate for the County Council at Large B Seat. He is running against Jeremy Barker. The entire county votes for the candidates running for the at large seats. This is the seat currently held by Council Chairman Sid Creager.
Starting September 2nd, Morgan County Library will be changing its after-school story hour time. Because of the new early release day for our elementary schools we will be moving our afternoon storyhour to 2:30 on Thursdays
Last week I attended the Federation of Genealogical Societies’ annual conference in Knoxville Tennessee. The Federation of Genealogical Societies is an organization made up of genealogical societies (wow, redundant).
In the council meeting on Tuesday, the city updated the capital improvement plan. The changes document the city’s intent for spending capital dollars. When the city applies for grants it is often essential that the project be on the city’s plan to be considered.
In a public hearing on Tuesday, with no public comment, the city made the final steps to approve at $101,000 road bond. The city is bonding under the Build America Program made available from the Federal Economic Stimulus plan. Under this plan the city can borrow at a discounted rate.
The Morgan girls soccer team played their third preseason game of the year in Logan vs the 4A Lady Grizzlies on Thursday August 19th. Although the team played well, they went down to their third defeat of the season by the score of 3-2.
