On Monday night Sept. 12, 2011, there was a bear sighting in the Mountain Green Neighborhood of Monte Verde. It was around 10:30 P.M. when the sighting of the black bear occurred. One of the home owner’s goats was killed by the bear. The homeowner went out and shot at the bear as the bear was trying to go for his other goat. The bullet hit the bear, but the bear wandered off, wounded up into the hills. Wildlife management is still in search of the bear as it’s still on the loose. If you see any sightings of the bear please report to the local authorities.
