County approves first phase of bike park

The Morgan County Council approved the first phase of the Morgan Bike Park, which could include a pump track area.  The area would be restricted to non-motorized recreation only.

BMX youth wins state competition

There has been quite a storm of interest in the mountain biking and BMX industry in Morgan as of late.  There is a new mountain biking team featuring students from Morgan High and local resident, Jason Johnson, has proposed a new bike track in the area.  This may be a great idea for kids like Brewer Snedden.

Local resident proposes bike park

Recent years have seen the creation and expansion of a new type of community recreation that provides an opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors and engage in physical activity together, while remaining relatively low in upfront and ongoing cost. Bike parks provide individuals of all ages with a venue for varying abilities and levels of physical exertion.  Bike parks are customized to fit the physical location and resources available as well as the interest and demand of the public using the parks. Being a relatively new concept in communities, many of the future users of bike parks aren’t even aware they exist.

New MTB race team places first

Morgan County is home to some of the most active kids I have ever seen, so it is no surprise that there is a new outdoor sports team in the area, the Morgan MTB race team.

Premier cycling event comes to Morgan

As formidable rivals on both the slopes and soccer field, Stacie Palmer and Erika Beckstrom never fathomed that one day they would not only be best friends, but working together to bring Utah’s premier cycling event, the Wildflower Pedalfest, to Morgan County.

New Owners of Needles Peak Ski and Bike

 

Mountain Green has so many beautiful vistas to climb and many road bicyclist find there paths leading through trappers loop and the surrounding areas. A passion for biking stirred new Owner’s Ryan Pace and his wife DeeDe Waldron Pace to purchase the Needles Peak Ski and Bike Shop in Mountain Green at 4883 West Old Hwy. Rd.

Morgan Elementary Student Wins a Scooter and Helmet

UDOT’s Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP)™ announced its 49 recipients of donated bikes, helmets and scooters in classrooms and assemblies statewide. Students earned the prizes for participating in UDOT’s “Walk More in Four” initiative.
