This last week I was part of the beta test for LDS Member access to MyHeritage, FindMyPast, and Ancestry.  I set up free accounts.  It was easy to do and the access to more experiences and records is great.  Just after I set up the accounts I received a welcome email from MyHeritage.  It was a nice email and invited me to do a few things on the site.  I went back to the site and added a little more information to my tree.  I liked the ease of adding information on MyHeritage and thought that their process of adding me as a new customer was good.  Today, however, the real fun began.

The soldiers lived on two or three bowls of rice a day until it was almost gone. Only one ship got through at night to unload rice and got out before morning. The soldiers felt lucky to finally get just one bowl of rice once a day for the last two or three months.  Because Corregidor was under attack from the sky and sea with no hope of reinforcements, the men fought on heroically, but were forced to surrender on May 6, 1942.

Several field clearing and debris burns in Morgan, Summit, Salt Lake, Uintah, San Juan and Grand counties have escaped, requiring action by fire fighters. Fire managers say these fires were all preventable and they recommend taking some simple precautions to safely and successfully burn.

Five- to 8-year-olds had the chance to pledge their heads, hearts, hands and health to themselves and others on May 28-29 at the first annual Cloverbud 4-H Camp.  4-H has been an important organization in Morgan County for over 100 years and now younger kids have the opportunity to be involved.  The group met at the Morgan County Courthouse for their activities during this day camp that lasted two days.

Living in Morgan makes us all a little happier.  We love the fresh air, the beautiful mountains, and our friendly neighborhoods.   Results of a recent study give us one more reason to be happy we call this valley home.  A study completed by the University of Wisconsin, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation named Morgan the healthiest county in Utah.  Even better, this is the third year they have published results of county comparisons and we have maintained the top spot every year.

The beautiful cemetery that stands on the hill behind the LDS Ward on the old Highway Rd. in Mountain Green was the original pioneer burying grounds for the pioneer community. It was laid out in 1860 on land that was owned by David Bowman Bybee.  He sold .45 acre to the settlement of Mountain Green to provide a place of burial for early settlers.
