Snowbasin Resort welcomes Peter Baker as food and beverage director

Snowbasin Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Baker as Snowbasin’s new Food & Beverage Director, effective September 4, 2012.
Peter has spent over 12 years in the leadership & planning position for several top rated resorts the most recent being at Grand Targee as their Beverage, Dinning, & Entertainment Director. Prior to that, Peter spent several years at Idaho’s Tamarack and Northern California’s Kirkwood Resorts as director of their food & beverage departments. "With such an extensive background in the resort food & beverage industry, Peter will be a great addition to Snowbasin," said John Loomis General Manager of Snowbasin Resort.

Dave Matthews band saxiphonist to perform at Snowbasin

Snowbasin is excited to welcome to the stage 3-time Grammy award winner and internationally recognized saxophonist, Jeff Coffin & the Mu’tet on Saturday, August 18. This all-star band line-up consists of Jeff Coffin, from the Dave Mathew Band, Felix Pastorius on bass, Bill Fanning on trumpet/space trumpet, Chris Walters on keys, and special guest Roy “Future man” Wooten (of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones) on drums. This will be the second year Snowbasin will host a major concert as part of the Mt. Ogden 100k Mountain Bike Festival. “With the success of the Mt.Ogden 100k Festival concert last year it only seemed natural to bring in a band of this caliber for the second year,” explains Steve Andrus, Snowbasin’s events director.

Announcing Snowbasin’s NEW discovery pass program

Snowbasin is proud to introduce the new Discovery Pass Program for the upcoming 2012/2013 Winter Season. The Discovery Pass program gives several options for skiers and riders to enjoy all that Snowbasin has to offer. For a limited time only, the Discovery Value Pass is available for $449. The pass does contain some restrictions including holiday blackout dates.

Snowbasin Dew Tour and Volunteer Appreciation Day soon

The Snowbasin Dew Tour will be starting up on Thurs. Feb. 9 with festivals beginning at Snowbasin with entertainment and vendor booths. The Competition itself will be Feb. 10-12. All competitions are free and open to the public.

Snowbasin Freeski Team development program

Snowbasin- UT The OVWSF and Snowbasin are proud to introduce the Snowbasin Freeski Team development program. The program, a partnership between the OVWSF and Snowbasin Snowsports Learning Center, is designed to take skiers into the realm of freeride skiing. Not only will students hone in on advanced skiing skills, they will also receive training in the terrain park, halfpipe, big mountain skiing, as well as mountain safety. Gordon Perry OVWSF Director said, “The foundation has had a demand for freeskiing for the past couple of years and with the addition of a new head coach Jake Seipel, he will bring the quality of coaching and guidance people have grown to expect of the OVWSF and Snowbasin.”

Snowbasin opened Thanksgiving Day

Snowbasin Resort will be starting its 2011.2012 winter season this Thursday November 24th. We will begin the season with 12”+ of new snow since Friday night and with extensive snowmaking Snowbasin will be boasting a base averaging between 18-24 inches on top to bottom runs.

Snow Basin introduces Team UT for Snowboarder’s to excel in the industry

The OVWSF and Snowbasin are proud to welcome the newest Team Utah chapter to its slopes this season as well as Head Coach Jon Clark. Team Utah Program Director Lane Clegg said, “We are not only excited to expand to Snowbasin, but after a long search and many interviews Jon Clark was a perfect fit for our newest mountain chapter”.
