Seventeen years ago a teaching job brought Doug and Jane Curfew to Morgan. Since then, they have had the opportunity to serve many Morgan children. Doug, a fifth grade teacher at Morgan Elementary, plays a very influential role in the lives of these young children as they begin to make the transition from elementary to middle school. He really enjoys the students he teaches and they in turn enjoy him. The students especially enjoy Doug’s love of ‘80s music as they get to partake of it in the classroom.

Tuesday May 15, 2012, Morgan Elementary held the third annual American Cancer Society Relay Recess.    This year’s Relay Recess was a huge success, raising over $2,800 to go toward research for a cure.  This fund raising and educational event reached every classroom and many of the families in our community.  Relay Recess gives students a sense of pride that they can accomplish something worthwhile by looking beyond themselves.

In a letter to current customers Comcast notified those receiving service that they would soon not be available.  The cable provider will be discontinuing services on May 15. 

Comcast has supplied a low cost alternative for customers unable to receive the signal from the county maintained antennae system as well as a full range of premium television service to customers in the county.  

A portion of the Morgan High School song reads, “Give three cheers for our old Morgan High, where we never say can’t but I’ll try, heart and hand to thee we render, brain and brawn be they defender, for we love you our Morgan High.”  These lines were actually played out this past weekend as two of our teams competed in state competition.

Mrs. James Taggart of Lewiston, Utah and Mrs. Henry Taggart of Salt Lake City visited here a short time Sunday at the homes of their cousins Mr. Bert Dickson and Mrs. Geo Hansen. They were at Como Saturday for the Taggart reunion.
