The Utah State University Extension 4-H State Contests were held Monday, July 15, through Wednesday, July 17, on the USU campus. Nearly 300 Utah 4-Hers participated in a variety of competitions, and winners may receive an invitation to participate in the national competition at Western National Roundup in Denver, Colo., Jan. 9 to 12, 2014. In addition to competing, 4-H youth engaged in educational, social and service opportunities as they learned such skills as proper nutrition, rocketry, animal science and family science.
