Scout Troop Celebrates Freedom as They Serve

Boy Scout Unit 576 of the Mt. Ogden District, Trapper trails Council, has been placing the American flag in the front of various Mountain Green homes for nine years! What a great patriotic service to our community! Plus, those who have subscribed to their service help support our local Boy Scout programs and summer camps. One hundred and eighteen flags are being posted this year for each of the seven flag holidays. Their Scout Master Carl Hipwell also posts another 18 flags at the Kent Smith Park. What a beautiful sight they are! In the photo are three of their Scouts: Christian Cox, Cody Standing and Travis Forsyth. These boys helping put flags up on Flag Day take the posture of our famous United States Marines putting up the American Flag during WWII on Iwo Jima. That date was February 23, 1945. Keep up the great and patriotic service to our community! Unit 576 is sponsored by the Highlands Ward of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
