Local 17 year old Casey Evans helped the Salt Lake Metro team from Utah win the first major national high school age tournament since 1994. This is a 64 team tournament called the Fab 48 held in Las Vegas. The team competed against teams from throughout the country, as they went 8-0 and captured the championship from a Dallas based team called Southwest Elite. Evans led the way in the championship game with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocked shots. Other members of the team included, Nick Emery, (Lone Peak High School), McKay LaSalle (Bountiful High School), Ryan Sagers (Timpview High School), Parker Van Dyke (East High School), Hardy Weissohan (Layton Christian High School), Dallin Kay (Juab High School), Jack Larson (East High School).
