Thanks to all of you who made our Ice Cream Social with Bob Peterson such a success. What a wonderful evening in the Riverside Park! Everyone appreciates Bob’s outstanding voice and his talent for making us all laugh and enjoy a great evening of entertainment. Our biggest” thanks” to he and Rozann for giving their time and talents to all the seniors who attended. Great Activities to watch for in October: Monday, October 4 Mirror Lake Tour with Rick London as host driver. Enjoy the beautiful fall colors through the Uintahs. Plan on lunch as well and returning around 3 p.m. The cost $8 and we will be leaving the center at 9 a.m. Call for your reservations as soon as possible. Monday, October 4 At 4:45 p.m. season ticket-holders will leave for the play “Scarlet Pimperuel” at the Plaza Playhouse in Washington Terrace. Plan on having dinner out that evening with the group. If you do not have tickets and would like to attend, please call the office at (801) 845-4040 and we will make arrangements. Thanks to all who enjoyed the fall ride to Cache Valley and around with our volunteer Mary Kaye Campbell. Mary Kaye gives freely of her time to give us some great tours and superb driving! Thank You Mary Kaye. Wednesday, October 6 Attend the Utah Quilt Festival in Midway with Doris Thurgood as your volunteer driver and hostess. The group will leave around 8:30 a.m. and cost will be $8. There are many vendors at this festival and you can see some of the finest materials available for anyone interested in quilting. Call for reservations (801) 845-4040. Monday, October 11 55 Alive Classes with the excellent teacher, Marie Nye, will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until l:00 p.m. Cost is $12 for members of AARP and $14 for non-members. You will receive an overall view of proper driving habits and laws. Marie is one of the best teachers available. You can receive a discount on your car insurance by taking this course. Please call your insurance agent to see how big your discount is for a three-year period. Tuesday, October 12 Trip to the temple with Vaugh Larson….call Emma Lou Bell for reservations (801) 829-6353. Thursday, October 14 Flu Shots available at the senior center through CNS from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Shots will include the H1N1 shot as well as a combination with other flus that are determined to be around this season. Check with your insurance to make sure they pay….Medicare will cover. Tuesday, October 26 Foot Clinic beginning at noon. Call for reservations.
