Obituary for Arlo D. Palmer


Arlo Dearden Palmer, 81, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 in Tremonton, Utah. He was born February 4, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Walter LeRoy Palmer and Ella Lithgoe Dearden. His siblings are Dean, Bessie and Fred (all deceased) and Keith, Valerie, Caroline and Tim. Dad enlisted in the Navy in 1946 and served in Guam, Sipan and Tinian. On March 16, 1950, he married LaVerna Stoney in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple in March 1961. Mother died Sept 1, 2009. In 1985, he contracted Parkinson Disease, which he fought daily. He worked as a General Contractor, specializing in finish work and residential designing. He enjoyed photography, inventions, gold digging, (as a youth), sports, boxing, and dancing. His biggest loves were his wife, his family and his religion. Surviving are his children: Lynn (DeLoy) Mecham of Brigham City, Utah; Marlow (Sandi) Palmer of California; Rex (Gail) Palmer of Peterson, Utah; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his wife, LaVerna and a son and a daughter: Bert (Terry) Stoney and Ginnie Palmer Cragun. We ‘re glad he ‘s able to share the holidays with his loved ones who have gone on before. He will be missed, by all those who love him. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, Oct. 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milton Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Thursday. Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thanks to Bear River Care Center for their care of our dad for the last 2 _ years.
