Morgan Wrestling Club Holds its First Tournament Here


The Morgan Wrestling Club hosted Morgan’s first Morgan Junior High Dual Tournament on Saturday, December 4 at the Morgan Middle School. Six Junior High and Middle School Teams attended including Morgan, Box Elder, Bear River, Uintah (Vernal), Skyview, and Weber. Each team wrestled every other team in attendance, and each wrestler wrestled 5 times throughout the day. 1st and 2nd place team trophies were awarded, as well as undefeated wrestler awards. Uintah Jr. High took home the first place team trophy, and Bear River took home the second place team trophy. Undefeated wrestlers from Morgan were Jaden Pentz, Conley Breshears, Owen Pentz, and Carlos Nava. The Morgan Wrestling Club just ended its recreational season this week. Kids ranging from PreK through 4th grade have wrestled at tournaments the last few months at Clearfield High School, Layton High School, Weber High School, Freemont High School, and will have their last tournament of the season at Weber High School or North Summitt High School on Saturday, December 11th. The Morgan recreational program is coached by Kelly Wilson, and the Junior High Team is coached by Adam Toone. Morgan Wrestling Club would like to thank all of their sponsors, volunteer coaches and parents, and the many people who volunteered their time on Friday night and Saturday in order to make the tournament a huge success.
