Donna Vee was born in Coalville, Utah in the house she was raised in. Her parents were Katie LaRue Lamb and George (Ted) Edward Bowen. Donna had five brothers and four sisters. Her two oldest brothers and her oldest sister have passed away. Donna married Carl Gene Taylor. They were later divorced. Together they had three children; Kevin Gene, Shauna and Brad Taylor. Brad is deceased. Kevin and Shauna both live in Wyoming. Donna’s grandchildren are Brandon, Melissa, Jessica, Hazen, Tiffany, Chavis, and Tawny. Donna also has ten stepchildren that love her just like their own grandma. They are Robbie (Brandee), Camron (Ellie), Katie, Stephen, Thomas, Jeremy, Nick (Cayce), Chlesea, Riley and McKenna. Donna also has 15 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren and another one on the way. Donna married Jim Johnston on June 5, 1970, and helped to raise Jim’s children, Ron, Cindy and Doug. They have lived in Morgan ever since. For several years Jim and Donna lived in a home where Morgan Health Center is located. They now live across the street from Jubilee Foods. After graduating from North Summit High School, Donna worked in the school lunch program for five years before her marriage. Donna was also the first custodian for the post office after it was built. It was right next door to her home, so it was easy to walk to. Donna is always spotted around town walking. Recently she has had some lung problems, and she can’t breathe the cold air, so she can’t get out and walk every day. Donna worked in the mink farms for 18 years for Lyle Porter. In 1998, Donna officially retired from Morgan Schol District after working for 20 full years and three part time years in the school lunch program. Her favorite hobbies include counted cross stitch, crocheting, quilting, and playing dominos at the senior center with her friends. She also said she will be 80 years young, not 80 years old. Donna battled breast cancer and has been cancer free since 2002. Donna loves traveling with her sisters, and they have traveled to Jackson Hole, WY and Las Vegas, where she was the only one that gambled, and wasn’t very successful. Donna has always been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving two years in extraction, many years as the secretary in the Sunday School and also a visiting teacher since she moved to Morgan.
