Morganite Crowned Miss High School Rodeo Queen


On June 8, at a ceremony in Heber City at the Utah State High School Rodeo finals, Bailey Woolsey was crowned Miss Utah High School Rodeo Queen. Bailey is a student at Morgan High School where she will be a senior in the coming year. She has worked towards this goal, competing in up to 20 contests a year all over the state of Utah for the past 3 years. She will be representing Utah at the National High School Rodeo finals in Gillette, Wyoming mid July. The National High School Rodeo finals is the largest rodeo held in the world. Bailey will be competing against other girls from across the United States as well as contestants from Canada and Australia. The competition for Miss High School Rodeo Queen includes eight categories, a written test, a prepared speech, an impromptu speech, horsemanship, personality, appearance, interview, and modeling. Bailey finished first in horsemanship, impromptu speech and interview. She placed 2nd in modeling and personality. Bailey will be holding a good luck send-off & fundraiser on July 9 with a silent auction and drawings for a half beef and several other items. Bailey’s older sister, Cortney, held the same title in 2009. They are the first sisters to both hold this title in the 58 year history of High School Rodeo. Cortney finished as 1st runner up in the national competition. Woolsey’s parents are Jared and Lisa Woolsey. They both were raised and attended school in Morgan.
