Morgan Wrestler Places First

On June 19th-24th Owen Pentz competed in the Western Regional Wrestling Tournament in Pocatello, Idaho. There were 13 states that competed in this tournament. Owen competed in 3 styles: Folkstyle, Greco Roman, and Freestyle. Owen Placed 1st in all 3 styles winning 3 Gold Medals, The Triple Crown award, and the outstanding wrestler belt buckle. There were 130 kids from Utah that competed. Out of that 130 there were 3 that received these awards; Owen was one of these 3. Owen was coached by Navruzov Savridden (the kids call him Savvy) from Uzbekistan, Russia. He is the Greco Roman head coach for the Elite Wrestling Club in Orem, Utah. His specialty is Greco Roman wrestling. He is a 2 time World Champion Asian and a 3 time national Greco Champion. Savvy has been working with Owen and Jayden since March to get them prepared for this wrestling tournament. Owen’s family expressed that, We are lucky to have him [Savridden] be able to work with our boys and help them improve on their skills of wrestling in Greco and Freestyle. We hope that he is able to continue to coach here in Utah, we feel that Savvy has a lot to offer to the wrestling programs in Utah. We want to thank Savvy for his patience, time, and dedication of many hours on the mat.
