Teacher Feature – Rhonda Ball

The new sixth grade teacher at Morgan Middle School this year is Mrs. Ball. Mrs. Ball attended high school in Arizona and then graduated from Northern Arizona University where she studied nursing and microbiology. Once her youngest child started kindergarten, she went back to school and received her teaching degree from Southern Utah University. Mrs. Ball taught eighth grade in Cedar City before she came to Morgan. She was given the opportunity to teach sixth grade here and she loves it. She is very glad to continue teaching middle school. Mrs. Ball very much enjoys being with her students. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the understanding in her students’ eyes. The satisfying feeling of helping the students learn is what she takes the most pleasure in. Outside of teaching sixth grade Mrs. Ball likes to cross-stitch when she has the chance and is always spending time with her family. She has five children, four of whom are married, and four grandchildren, as well as a grandson on the way. Her family is one of teachers and policemen. She, her husband, and her children are all either policemen or teachers, including her two daughters who are drill team coaches. Mrs. Ball and her husband frequently go to cheer on their daughters’ drill teams as they perform. The work of Mrs. Ball’s husband brought them to Morgan. Her husband could live no further away than fifty miles from his office, so the two of them drew a circle on their map with a fifty mile radius and set out traveling to check out different communities. They always ended up in Morgan and Mrs. Ball said that she just fell in love with this beautiful valley and the wonderful people here. Evidently the school called her in for an interview and now we have Mrs. Ball as a great addition to the sixth grade at the middle school.
