Wanda and Jim Judy moved to Morgan Dec 1, 1977 and, one year later to the day, moved into their current home. Wanda and Jim have five children: Tiffany Hogge, Brant Judy, Keri Lyn Barr, Joelle Taylor, and Jessica Terry. And they currently have thirteen grandchildren. Wanda was born on Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Washington where her father was stationed while in the Navy. She and her parents lived in a beautiful area, right on the cliff edge over looking the ocean, however, they moved before Wanda was two years old. She is the oldest of three girls. They moved around a lot while she was growing up, mostly around Washington in cities like, Spokane, and the Tri-Cities area. While living in the Tri-Cities, Wanda’s parents a dairy farm for a few years in a small rural community. They also had horses that Wanda really enjoyed riding as a young girl. When she was in high school, in the middle of her junior year, she and her family moved to Boise, Idaho. While here, one of Wanda’s highlights was being in an award-winning HS drill team. Upon graduation from Capitol High, she attended Hollywood Beauty College and received her license for cosmetology. She remained in this field for a number of years, both before and after marrying her husband, Jim. Wanda comments, It saved us a lot of money on the family haircuts, which was nice. A year after finishing school, Wanda and Jim Judy were married in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Green River, Wyoming and lived there for three months. They later moved into an apartment in Salt Lake City for one year then built a house in West Jordan. By the time they lived there for five years they had three of their five children, Tiffany, Brant, and Keri Lyn. Wanda and Jim later decided that they wanted to raise their family in a smaller town with a country setting. After looking in several different places they happened upon Morgan. They were just driving through and from the moment they saw it they knew this was the place. It was so beautiful, so clean and so friendly. Everyone waved to us as we drove by. Just wonderful! says Wanda. After moving to town they would later have two more children. They have now lived in Morgan for thirty-four years and still feel it is pretty near perfect. Wanda and Jim have always appreciated the warm and friendly, close-knit atmosphere of the Morgan community. As a family we have all enjoyed participating in the community events, like the ÷Hometown Christmas’, the Easter Egg hunts at the park, 4th of July parades, Morgala Days, fairs, rodeos and festivities. Their five children and their families love to gather and participate in Morgan events. There is such a feeling of community that binds friends and families. We love it! says Wanda Judy. With there being four girls and one boy in the Judy family, their home was always full of kids and fun. It was always a highlight in their home to have all our kids’ friends over. The four Judy girls all participated in drill team while Brant was on the wrestling team. He later went on to serve a mission in the Dominican Republic. This very close family have always loved spending time with each other and finding things to do. They now enjoy weekly Sunday night family gatherings. These gatherings include all, but not limited to, dinner, music, singing and jam sessions with guitar, fiddle, etc. The Judy family has always been active in the LDS church. Wanda has enjoyed all of her church callings and says they have all been very valuable for her growth and development. She is currently now the Cub Scout master. Wanda Judy was a stay-at-home mom for most of her kid’s childhood and adolescence. When she did work it was part time so that she’d be able to be at home as much as possible and spend time with her kids. With the kids all grown and gone, Wanda is now enjoying a new stage in life. She welcomes any chance to travel, loves to read, and loves gardening. In fact, she is a gardener and tour guide at the COB gardens at SLC temple square. She works part time at Good Earth health food store in Riverdale and loves it! She is also now currently involved in emotional healing work. Besides my amazing family, this is my passion- to assist others, as well as myself, with relieving stress, fears, and other ÷stuff’ that doesn’t serve us well. It just so happens, as Wanda’s Christmas gift to the community of Morgan, she is offering 50% off coupons for sessions purchased during the months of December and January, to be used anytime during the year. She says if you would like to find out more go to her website: www.wandajudy.com. I don’t really like being in the spotlight, but I do welcome this opportunity to thank all the amazing people of Morgan for who you are and what you stand for, and for all that you have done for our family over the years, whether you know it or not. We feel of your love and support and the general ÷goodness’ of the community. I am so grateful we moved to Morgan. Each one of us does make a huge difference in each other’s lives. I am so grateful for all of you and the difference you make. I am so grateful for my life, my family, and my friends. I am very blessed! I ask the Lord’s richest blessings for all of you and our community as a whole at this Christmas Season and always!
