Local Todd Stuart represents Morgan well

Todd Stuart was the only Morgan County resident this year in the pro hillclimb. Stuart loved motorcycles from a very young age. He started racing motocross at age 14 and raced off and on for 20 years. In 2003, Stuart entered the Widowmaker for the first time. His first race was in the 250 stock class that year and he really enjoyed it, but made the decision to build his first hillclimber motorcycle, a Honda CR50, so he could join the pro-class. In 2005, Stuart joined the Western States Pro-Hillclimb Association and started to travel outside of Utah to climb. A good friend of Stuart’s, Dave Ghizzone, let him ride his open class hillclimber bike in a competition. That was all it took to get him hooked, so in 2007, with a lot of help from his father, Stuart built his first open class hillclimber bike. Stuart’s dad had so much fun helping him build the bike, they decided to try their hand at it again and they built a one-of-a kind, all aluminum bike to race in the 2010 hillclimbs. Todd also loves to spend time with his family, hunt, fish and drive in demolition derbies, which he did for about 12 years before he started participating in hillclimbs. Stuart said, Pretty much my whole family is involved in some form of racing, some hillclimbing, motocross, truck pulling and demolition derby. Todd is the son of Cleo and Denny Stuart of Morgan and has been happily married to Deana Stuart for 24 years. He has two daughters and a grandson, and this summer they will be picking up a couple of son in laws. They all love to go to see their dad race.
