Seth Snyder, a senior at Morgan High School, won first place in the Utah high school welding competition on March 28. Competitors were given a set of blueprints and materials in the morning and told to finish their projects by early afternoon. Snyder, who began welding four years ago, performed at the highest level, outranking students from across the Beehive state. He was recognized with a gold medal, a scholarship offer and over $600 worth of welding gear. Snyder will compete in the national welding finals in Kansas City, Miss., from June 23 – 28.
